Raised in rural Pennsylvania, I moved to New York City right after college and never looked back. NYC has been my home for over the past 20 years. While I have had the good fortune to travel around the world and love doing so…inevitably NYC always calls me back. I am proud New Yorker. There is nowhere else I can imagine calling home.
LookUpNYC is passion project for me and a love letter to the city I love. It is meant to illustrate the wonder and beauty of New York City and to be an expression of my love and appreciation for what I consider to be the best city in the world. When I first moved to NYC over 20 years ago, I was young and ambitious and fell right into the fast paced pulse of what makes NYC the bursting at the seams electric city it is. However, after years of living here and learning that sometimes you have to slow down to go faster, I fell into a more balanced pace of life. I started to actually look up in NYC as I walked through the avenues and streets and realized there’s a whole other world up in the skies of this great city. LookUpNYC is a manifestation of that experience through photography. My hope is that my photos may inspire others to slow down just a little and look up at the beauty and wonder of the NYC skyline and architecture…LookUpNYC
